South County Hospital is the only hospital in the Northeast and one of just 19 hospitals nationwide to have earned 5-Star Ratings from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for both Overall Hospital Quality and Patient Experience. Today, South County Hospital holds a 4-Star Overall Hospital Quality Rating from CMS—the highest rating achieved by any hospital in Rhode Island—and has also earned a 5-Star Rating for Home Health Patient Experience. In addition, South County Hospital has ranked among the top 7% of hospitals nationally for patient experience based on HCAHPS survey results.
Our commitment to excellence has also earned 11 Leapfrog “A” Hospital Safety Grades since 2018, the Healthgrades Outstanding Patient Experience Award, and 5-Star ratings for both Vaginal and Cesarean Delivery, along with nationally recognized accreditations in stroke care, orthopedics, and patient safety.
